ALTERNA Haircare – Caviar Repair Multi-Vitamin Heat Protection Spray Review

Hello dolls! I’m going to start by apologizing for neglecting my blog the last few days, I was doing some summer courses for school and just finished up my exams so I’m free! – I’ll start posting more often now, promise (disclosure – I’ll be away Aug. 6 till the 10th). Anyway, today I’ll be reviewing the Caviar Repair Multi-Vitamin Heat Protection Spray by ALTERNA Haircare and this is probably one of the longest titles yet, ha! I received this product as a sample a few weeks ago from Sephora and I used it twice and had to buy the full bottle. I’ve actually been looking for a new heat protectant that not only protects my hair but also keeps it healthy! This spray is amazing it smells so nice and leaves my hair incredibly soft!

It’s filled with so many different vitamins, including Vitamin A, B6, B12, C, E and Biotin! Can you say awesome? The damage that styling products cause on our hair is horrible and I know like myself, many of you try to avoid damage to your hair to keep it growing and looking as healthy as ever. I’m telling you that this product is 100% the absolute best I have ever tried and I am in love with it. To go along with all of the wonderful vitamins in this spray, there’s also caviar in it! This spray is said to help repair damaged hair while restoring hydration and strength which will leave you with gorgeous, soft strands. It truly works wonders and I have never had my hair this soft from a heat protectant. There’s also Color Hold technology that will lock into your hair’s colour brightness – so blondies this one’s safe for you!

To apply, I spray it all over my damp hair after my shower – I just towel-dry my hair and I don’t brush it until after this product is in, then I take a wide-toothed comb and comb my hair out, starting from the ends and working up so that you’re not pulling out your hair! I usually let my hair air-dry unless I’m in a hurry but whatever you choose to do you can be fully comfortable knowing your hair is protected up to 450º F!

I have fairly fine-normal hair and I have found that in the past many products weigh down my hair and never work, this one is so light but rich with ingredients it’s the perfect combo for any hair type! I honestly could go on and on about how fantastic this product is and the price isn’t all that bad, it’s $34.50 CAD for a 4.2 oz bottle. Depending on how often you style your hair this could last quite a bit! I will definitely be repurchasing this over and over again because it’s so awesome and my hair has never felt better!

Teeez – Read My Lips Lipstick Review

I recently received this lipstick from Teeez Cosmetics in my Ipsy glam bag for the month of July and was eager to try it out! Odd enough, I have never heard of this company – maybe I have but I definitely do not remember much about it. Anyway, I’m SO glad I got this lipstick! I got it in the shade Killing Me Softly and it’s like a fun, peachy-coral shade that’s perfect for summer and matches my skin tone great! I’m going to start off by saying that the packaging is so cute and unique! The lipstick tube is all white and has a pretty cool lookin’ skull on it, it sets it out from the typical lipstick tubes! PLUS this company is cruelty-free so that makes this 100x better.

The lipstick itself is said to be creamy and to leave a satin, matte finish, which it does, but please, please remember to apply a lip primer before lipstick! Or if you don’t have a lip primer then a good, moisturizing lip balm will do it. I wanted to see what it looked like and didn’t prime my lips and it was really dry and cracked and looked really bad within minutes. So, I wiped that off and moisturized and primed my lips and it was perfect! It lasted all night (I was at a concert) and even stayed on with drinks! I found that it really did hydrate my lips and keep them feeling soft. I love that it has a matte finish, I prefer that over glossy/shine, and it’s definitely bright and fun!

I think this shade is particularly perfect for summer because of the peach/coral tones it has which scream summer. Although, I’m sure if paired correctly, it would look awesome during other seasons as well. Needless to say, this is my new summer favourite, and a new go-to for lipstick! It’s so much fun and really makes an outfit pop! I was wearing a white romper and this was a great way to add some fun colour to my look! Let me know what you dolls think if you got this in your Ipsy bag as well! xo.

The Wait Is Over… Naked Smoky REVIEW

Hello dolls! I’m sure you have all heard the buzz about the Naked Smoky eyeshadow palette from Urban Decay and I’m sure you all know that it came out recently, and of course I had to order it right away. I’ve used it a couple of times and although I have not used all of the shades yet I will still review the palette today!

So, to start, the packaging is beautiful, I love how different it is from all the other Naked palettes and it comes with 4 different tutorials for different smoky eye looks! There’s so many different options available for different smoky eye looks and even just for everyday shadows! I am obsessed with this palette and literally adore everything about it, the shades are all gorgeous and I cannot wait to try them all out! It comes with a double-ended brush with one side having a fuller, pointed brush for getting into your crease or just for applying the eyeshadow to your lid, the other end is very small which is perfect for darker colours to get more detail and precision.

One of the looks I did was for a concert a couple nights ago and I wanted to try out one of their smoky eye tutorials but I was running a little behind – nothing new – so instead I just used the shade Thirteen as a base to make the other shades stand out more. Then, I used Whiskey in my crease and I made a bit of a triangular shape in the outer corner of my eyelid. After that, I topped it with High and went over a few times to really make it glitter, I also brushed some of it under my lower lash line to give my eyes an all around sparkle! It turned out super pretty and it was really fast to do!

The second look I tried out was actually last night, and I was really proud with the way it turned out! Again I used Thirteen as a base and mixed it with Combust just to cover my whole eyelid, these two shades are really nice because they shimmer and are very light! Next, I used Whiskey to create a smoky eye and I finished off the look by lightly brushing over with Dirtysweet. This is a great look for going out to dinner or to a party! I ended up downtown at a pub and it worked great with my outfit!

All in all, I love, love, love this palette and am totally obsessed with it! If you haven’t tried it I highly suggest you go order it right now. If you have tried it out let me know what you think and what shades are your favourite! Also, follow me on Instagram and Twitter for updates on new products and posts! xo.

Ipsy July Glam Bag First Impressions!

I just received my first ever Ipsy Glam Bag! Super exciting stuff. So, I figured who better to share it than with all of my lovely followers! This will be a quick first impressions post and then once I start using the products more regularly I will review each of them, so stay tuned! If you haven’t subscribed to Ipsy, I highly suggest you do! Click here to subscribe! You can either pay monthly or make one easy payment and be subscribed for a year – which is what I did!

Let’s get to it, so the first item, and the one that I already adore is the Read My Lips Lipstick by Teeez Cosmetics in the shade Killing Me Softly. The colour is so bright and fun – perfect for summer! It’s like a peachy-coral shade and it is definitely creamy and moisturizing. It says it leaves a satin matte finish and when I applied it on my hand it looked like that was true so I’m super excited to try it out for real. The packaging is also really cool and unique! There’s a floral skull on the box and on the tube of lipstick which I really like – it sets it out from the rest.

The second product is, Eyeshadow & Highlighter by OFRA in Bliss, now this comes in a little plastic container and I had no idea that the shadow itself didn’t have a lid after opening it so I was taking it out and stabbed my nail into it – not cool. It’s also a little annoying because I would prefer to have it with a lid so it stays clean and intact, but oh well. The colour itself is actually a really nice shade and I like that it works as an eyeshadow and highlighter because there is definitely a lot of shimmer in it and you could build that for a shiny eyeshadow or just use it as a highlighter – it’ll work either way.

Next, is the Clenance Gel by Avene which is a soapless cleanser made for oily, blemish-prone skin. I don’t really have blemish-prone skin but I do get the occasional spot and my skin definitely does get oily so this should be a great cleanser to try. I have used many Avene products in the past and have loved the way they work so I have high hopes for this one as well!

The third product is actually a tool, it’s the Crown Brush tweezers! They’re pink – my favourite colour – so that in itself make these pretty awesome. But the tweezers themselves have nice sharp edges and they have a good movement to them. I’ve never really used/owned a tweezer I didn’t like, as long as they’re a reliable brand and do the job it doesn’t really matter too much to me. I am still going to use these because they look like they might work just as well if not better than the ones I currently have!

The final product is the Beach Salt Spray by Coolway, I’ve heard a lot of great things on salt spray because it’s said to create effortless, beach waves. And if you’ve been out near the ocean you’ll know the waves I’m talking about – I absolutely love the way the ocean water and breeze makes my hair look! So, if this truly does do the job it’ll be super exciting! The only thing I do not like is that it smells a little strange, I sprayed a little bit and it was just an odd smell. Maybe it won’t smell like that once applied through your hair – I hope it doesn’t. All in all it seems like a great product and it’ll be perfect to use for summer.

BareMinerals – Essential Brow Colour

Hello dolls! I hope you are all having a wonderful Monday, today I’ll be reviewing the BareMinerals Essential Brow Colour brow powder. The colour I bought was the dark blonde/medium brown and even though I have dark eyebrows I prefer a lighter brow colour because my hair is very light.

I absolutely love this product, it’s so easy to use and a little bit goes a long way. I use a tiny, tiny bit of powder and it’s enough to outline my brow completely and then I use a little bit more to fill. The colour is actually quite dark when applied so I’m glad I didn’t get the darker colour. I would say that this would be too dark for some of you ladies with very blonde eyebrows but other than that it’s great!

I use this powder with the Sephora Collection Classic Brow Filler Brush and it works awesome especially since the brush only cost me $10.00 CAD. The powder itself also only costs $11.00 CAD which is a steal in my opinion. The brush is easy to use and applies a straight line. The only problem I have is that some of the bristles stick out a bit but it still doesn’t cause any problems with the application.

I will definitely continue to purchase this brow powder and would recommend it to many people! It works great and will last a long time, not to mention it’s so affordable!

Urban Decay – Naked Flushed Review

Hello! Part two of my Sephora Haul review will be the Naked Flushed palette by Urban Decay this is a palette that contains a bronzer, a highlighter, and a blush. There are four different colour choices for this palette and the one I got was the Native colour, which includes a medium bronzer, a pale pink highlighter and a bright pink blush – although it’s not that bright. This palette is also an Allure Best of Beauty Winner (as posted on

I like this palette because you can choose between different shades that match to your skin tone rather than just one set of colours because that tends to cause problems. Also, it allows you to pick and choose the shades you like the best on your skin! I chose the Native colour because the bronzer looked perfect and also I wanted a highlighter that was closer to white, not too dark otherwise it doesn’t do its job. Also, the blush was the only one that I would wear on a daily basis, I always buy bright pink blushes because they match so perfectly to my skin tone and do not come out bright at all.

I love how easy this is to use and how nicely it blends on my skin! It lasts all day and it really completes your look in just three simple steps! To apply, I highlight my cheekbone and under my eyebrows, I then apply bronzer in a “3” shape starting at my forehead and going in at my cheek, out, then onto my chin. After I just put some blush on the apples of my cheeks and brushing outward and up just above my cheekbone. If you are going for a natural look you do not need a lot of product at all, only a few swipes of a brush will do on each shade.

This is such a great palette not only because it is by Urban Decay – one of my faves, but because it’s so convenient! It has everything you need for an everyday makeup look but also everything to transform into a glam look for a night out. I love that it is so portable and sleek and it fits in a purse without being bulky and you don’t have to worry about powder exploding everywhere because it snaps closed – I think it’s magnetized?

naked brushThe only downside is that it doesn’t come with a brush – but no big deal, there’s plenty different ones out there that would work for this! There is actually a brush by Urban Decay called the Naked Flushed Double-Ended Brush and I’m very interested in purchasing it because it looks like the perfect brush to accompany this palette, in the mean time, I have just been using a slanted brush – just like the top-part of the one mentioned above.

All in all I love this product and have been using it every single time I wear makeup just to finish up my look! I highly recommend it. Follow me on Instagram and Twitter to stay up to date on new posts and products! xo.

Make Up For Ever – HD Microfinish Powder Review

Hello dolls! As you know I recently posted a Sephora haul and as promised there will be many reviews in the upcoming days/weeks. The first product from that haul that I’ll be reviewing is the HD Microfinish Powder by MAKE UP FOR EVER. I love their products and was looking for a new translucent powder that really did its job, and this is perfect.

All of the translucent powders that I have purchased in the past have been coloured or tinted. This one is just white, loose powder and it doesn’t discolour your skin. I know you might be thinking, will it really not make my skin lighter? The answer is no. You only need a small amount of powder for each section of your face and it sets your makeup all day long! It actually mattifies your skin and because it is made out of 100% mineral silica, it softens the appearance of imperfections, fine lines, and pores. It also completely evens out your skin and leaves you with radiant, glowing skin.

I used this powder to set my makeup every single day, but yesterday in particular I was outside all day in the sun and I had zero oil build-up by the end of the day; which is so rare for me. So obviously I love this product and will continue to use it everyday! The product description says that you can use it over foundation or alone, I haven’t tried it alone yet but I can confidently say that it will most definitely reduce the appearance of pores and imperfections on your skin. I used it today just to cover up my BB cream because I find that it can get oily throughout the day and it honestly works so well!

I am truly amazed at how great this product is and am questioning why I have never purchased it before. It is safe for sensitive skin so literally anyone with any skin type can and should use it! It is now officially my holy grail of translucent setting powders.

Sephora Haul!

Hello dolls! I just received a package from Sephora and I am so excited to share with you what I bought! I love Sephora and it’s probably the place I shop the most – plus who doesn’t love the rewards points? There will also be reviews on all these products coming soon so stay tuned!

I’ll start with the Bare Minerals Essential Brow Powder which I got in dark blonde/medium brown. I chose to get the lighter powder of the two because I have light brown hair with blonde highlights even though my eyebrows are dark I don’t like when they are very dark in comparison to my hair. For some reason this is no longer available in Canada on Sephora’s website, although I ordered it not too long ago, so it may just be temporary!

To go with the brow powder I got the Sephora Collection Classic Brow Filler Brush; I’ve used brow pencils in the past but finally made the switch to powder so it was only necessary that I get a brow brush as well!

Next is, the Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder, this is a translucent finishing powder that has won awards three times! The most recent award it has won is the Allure Best of Beauty 2014.

The Urban Decay Naked Flushed compact is perfect for summer. It comes with a bronzer, a highlighter, and a blush. I got the colour Native and it has a medium bronze shimmer, a pale pink shimmer highlighter, and a bright pink blush.

The concealer I ordered is the Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Concealer which is oil-free and is said to give a medium-coverage that covers imperfections but remains invisible.

I’m always looking to try out new primers so I ordered the NARS Pro-Prime Light Optimizing Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 15, that’s a mouthful. I always try to get oil-free products to minimize the amount of oil build-up I get throughout the day and this being an SPF primer is like an added bonus!

I finally got a new hair product and it’s the ALTERNA Haircare Caviar Repair Multi-Vitamin Heat Protectant Spray which is said to protect hair from heat styling up to 450º F and it’s full of awesome vitamins such as, Vitamin C, and it also has a caviar extract in it.

Samples, Samples, Samples! With every Sephora order you can choose up to 3 samples, so I’m going to combine some that I have gotten in previous purchases and just forgot about! I got the Benefit Cosmetics POREFessional primer, which I have used many times in the past, but there wasn’t much to choose from so I figured more primer never hurt anyone. The second sample is the Dr. Brandt Skincare Needles No More oil that has a tri-blend wrinkle releaser – I actually gave this to my mom because I do not have any wrinkles, so I’ll post her review sometime! The third sample I got with this order is the Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream perfume, I love perfumes, but I haven’t purchased anything by Marc Jacobs in a while so I wanted to try this one out.

Some more samples I got in a previous order are; Cover FX Illuminating Primer which I have tried out already and still have mixed feelings about so I’ll try it out again and get a full review on it. I also got the Estée Lauder Perfectionist Youth-Infusing Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 25 foundation, it’s infused with anti-aging serum technology, once again I may be giving this one to my mom to try out and review for you dolls. Finally, I got the Marula Pure Marula Facial Oil that is made to hydrate, protect, and rejuvenate the skin!

One more little added bonus I got with this package was the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream with Super 7 Complex, this is a daily age-defying moisturizer and it is proven to prevent the signs of aging, provide 24 hours of significant moisture, and boost radiance. I love Fresh products so this will be interesting to try out!

Bondi Sands Self Tanner Review

Hello dolls! I know I promised this post would be up last night at the latest but I didn’t get home until really late so I figured I’d just do it today! I hope you’re having a great week so far and enjoy my review on some self tanner products from Bondi Sands! I have heard many great things about this self tanner in recent social media posts and I follow their account on Instagram – where they post tons of before and after pictures – so after looking into it I decided to try it out.

I’d like to start by saying that I was very impressed with their customer service and how helpful they were. Here’s what happened, I ordered the products on June 12 and it shipped out on June 15, but the tracking number they gave me didn’t exist and they say it takes 7-12 business days for the product to ship to Canada. So, after 8 business days, I still had no idea where my package was because the tracking number still didn’t exist so I e-mailed their customer service and they helped so much – not to mention they responded back within 24 hours! They sent me a new tracking number and from there I was able to track my shipment with no problems! The package arrived a couple of days earlier than expected which was nice given that yesterday was a holiday here.

So, the first product I ordered was the Self Tanning Foam in Dark and it smells amazing, not like a typical self tan, it smells kind of like coconut and reminds me of being on vacation on a beach! Along with this I decided I should order the Application Mitt to make things easier. The self tanner is a little difficult to apply because it dries very quickly and if you try to go over a dry spot the colour will group together and you’ll end up with a dark patch. To avoid this, make sure your skin is properly exfoliated and moisturize any dry areas of skin! Also, use more product for larger areas of your body. I highly recommend buying the application mitt, otherwise you’re going to end up with orange palms and it won’t be a good look. It also helps to get an even, streak-free application and it covers more skin than just your hand would. I did two applications of this and love the way it turned out! I like to be really dark in the summer and I do have naturally tanned skin but with having surgery and not being able to get out too much this was great to really darken my skin! Once you wash the guide colour off (after 6-8 hours) the colour you’re left with is gorgeous! It’s a perfect sun-kissed glow.

Here’s my B&A picture!

The other product I purchased was the Gradual Tanning Milk for everyday face and it works great! It moisturizes my face and subtly tans it. I have had problems with tanning my face for years – it literally just doesn’t want to tan in the sun. So, when I saw this product I was extremely excited to try it out and I’m happy to say it works. I like using this on my face as opposed to using the self tanning foam because that stuff makes my face really dark and when I apply foundation over it it’s not a good look. So I prefer to use a gradual tan on my face and I’m actually thinking that I will order the gradual tanning milk for everyday use on my body. It would be a nice way to get a tan all year round without looking like you just got back from the beach and I definitely think it will be a must have this winter.

Overall, the products are great and I highly, highly recommend them! The prices are very affordable and international shipping is free for orders over $100 otherwise it’s just $9.95 USD. For Australian and New Zealand orders shipping is free over $50 and otherwise is $5.00 USD for Australian orders and $10.00 USD for New Zealand orders. Just remember that all the prices listed are in US Dollars! I live in Canada so the conversion rate isn’t all that great for me but it still wasn’t that bad and I would definitely order it again and again. Absolutely love this product!
